How's YOUR serve?

Service. Not the most fun word out there. It usually means work, so why do it? Why volunteer to serve others? Well, there is precedent for it - Jesus did it. Look at the example Jesus set for us by serving others. (John 13:1-17)
vs. 15-17: I have given you an example: just as I have done, you also must do. I assure you, servants aren’t greater than their master, nor are those who are sent greater than the one who sent them.Since you know these things, you will be happy if you do them. (it's in red cuz Jesus said it!)

There's a Bob Dylan song called "Gotta Serve Somebody" the chorus goes like this:

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
It may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

Now, I believe you will choose to serve The Lord and NOT the devil, but you get the main idea here, right?

What is your passion? Look for ways to serve God using your greatest passions, after all HE put those passions in you! If you could create your ideal ministry in the church, what would you want to do? Would you sing on a worship team? Maybe paint a picture during the sermon? Help teach kids? Whatever you do, try to do it with a group. This group that you serve with could become your closest friends, as you serve God together. If you are already serving in church, what are some ways you can invest in those you serve alongside?
